O.I.P. DANCE COMPANY

The O.I.P. Dance Company is a pre-professional and semi-professional training and performance group for dancers aged 14 and up. Comprised of a highly dedicated and talented group of dancers, O.I.P. Dance Company is designed for dancers who are looking for high quality training and performance opportunities. Many dancers may be graduating or leaving their dance studio or would like to work towards a professional career in dance - O.I.P. Dance Company is the place for them!

TRAINING
The O.I.P. Dance Company focuses on hip hop, jazz, tap, breaking, musical theatre, and other various styles of dance throughout the year. We will ensure that students who are not as strong in one style of dance or another will get the number of classes needed to advance their skills in that area to the level of everyone else! For example, if you have very strong training in jazz and tap, but your hip-hop and breaking skills are not as strong, you will participate in the jazz and tap rehearsals and be required to attend an appropriate number of hip-hop and breaking classes per month to improve to a level at which you can join the rest of the group for rehearsals. That applies not only for jazz and tap dancers, but also for hip-hop dancers that want to learn jazz and tap!

All O.I.P. Dance Company members are encouraged to continue training in other classes and are welcome to continue attending their own dance studio in addition to the O.I.P. Dance Company.

COMMITMENT
Being an O.I.P. Dance Company dancer involves a full time commitment of 8 hours of rehearsals and/or classes per week, as well as performance attendance from September 2007 to June 2008. The most important commitment is to improve as dancers and professional performers!

FEES
Full Year Registration
$260 plus GST ($15.60) = $275.60/every four weeks (upon signing a full year registration).
Dancers will receive over 32 hours of class time each month. (Approximately $8 dollars per class/hour). = $ 2,756/year

Installments Registration
$360 + GST ($21.60) = $381.60/4 week, in three installments.
Dancers will receive over 32 hours of class time each month. (Approximately $12 dollars per class/hour). = $ 3,816/year

These fees cover the costs of some of the costumes for our shows, faculty instructors, studio rentals, promotional material, and guest choreographers.
Dancers will not be required to pay any additional fees throughout the year.

Note: For those dancers lacking in one style or another, you will be ask to attend drop-in classes during the week to elevate your skills and to continue to improve. (You will receive a 15% discount on all of the scheduled weekly classes!) We ask the dancers to continually improve themselves in all areas of dance.

FACULTY
The artistic director of O.I.P Dance Company is Danny Davalos (O.I.P. Dance Centre’s Director and Owner). Guest choreographers include: Luther Brown (C.E.O., Artistic Director, and Owner of Do-Dat Entertainment), Heather Leslie (dancer and choreographer).Faye Rauw (Not just one of the best jazz teachers in Canada, but also an adjudicator at many dance competitions all over Canada and USA), Mario Castillo (Take IT TO THA FLOOR Co-Founder and a world wide dancer and choreographer), Kojo “TUCH” Mayne (World wide dancer and choreographer), Mariano (One of the best breakdancers in the country), Jennifer Mote (B.A.T.D. Certified tap, jazz, and ballet instructor), Linda Garneau (adjudicator and artistic director of the Helix Dance Project), Allison Plamondon (choreographer, teacher, and adjudicator)

GOALS
The O.I.P. Dance Company is designed to create professional dancers/performers. The O.I.P. Dance Company will participate in various live performances and some competitions throughout the year. Audition opportunities are offered throughout the year to O.I.P dancers for national and international performances, commercials, and television shows. The O.I.P. Dance Company will help enhance the skills the dancers already have, focusing on style, attack, and a professional performance feel. The O.I.P. Dance Company will help create resume boosters and allow for contacts to be made within the professional entertainment industry.

O.I.P. Dance Centre has a vision: “To see young people make a difference in the Canadian dance and entertainment industry. We're here to help them make it happen with passion, soul, and sheer inspiration.”

ADULT Dance Company:
Saturdays beginning September 8, 2007 to June 28, 2008

9:30am - 11:30am - Hip Hop
11:45am - 1:45pm - Jazz/Lyrical
2:15pm - 4:15pm - Tap/Specialty Class
4:30pm - 6:30pm - Rehearsals

Holidays: The Dance Company will be closed for business during the following dates:
*December 22nd, 2007 (Christmas holidays)
*December 29th, 2007 (New Year)
*May 17th, 2008 (Victoria Day)

The remainder of O.I.P. Dance Centre’s classes are open and optional to whoever wants to attend. O.I.P Dance Company members receive 15% discount on all of the O.I.P. Dance Centre’s drop in classes on the schedule!
