Shavar “Caution” BlackwoodShavar “Caution” Blackwood was born in Toronto, raised in Detroit, and is now bringing his dancing abilities home to Canada. Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to work with many outstanding choreographers and performers such as Tre Armstrong, Sean Cheeseman, Melissa Williams, Mandy Moore, Luther Brown, Falk Henstchel, Lil C and Blake Mcgrath.

Through intense mental and physical training, Shavar has found himself on the forefront of the stage performing in Toronto’s Choreographers Ball, Kumba Festival, Talent Defined, The Bazaar, Dance Ontario Weekend, International Dance Day, Sick Kids Hospital and was a 1st Place winner of Manifesto 2008.

Taking his skills on screen, Shavar was recently a Top 14 Finalist on Season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance Canada. He has also danced on set of the family channel show Naturally Sadie, Choreographed for the Women’s Network “Stuck”, danced for artist such as, Mcfly, George Nozuka, Divine Brown, was lead in the Jacksoul music video “All You Need”

Shavar’s passion for dance lets him take his ideas of the hip-hop culture to the next level by not only creating masterpieces but by taking you on a journey, where you will experience dance in one of its most rawest, purest and original forms. Shavar takes challenges with great ease, enjoys the thrill of performing, and aspires to be amongst the worlds most versatile and dynamic choreographers/performers in Canada. Currently member of Cadence Progressive Contemporary Ballet, he is training in Ballet, Contemporary and Ballroom in hopes to increase his repertoire of movement and learn from different aspects of dance.

Shavar would in time like to create a world for dancers that craves creativity and inspires success by understanding dance not just as an art but a way of life.
